OCTOBER

BIRTHDAY BOY
I don't know how my boys keep getting older, when I don't seem to be aging at all. Well, maybe I do have more aches and pains than I used to, and I will admit to pulling out a gray hair or two, but I don't feel like I'm old enough to have a 12 year old. Yet, he is 12 now, and I've watched him grow up. Z is such a wonderful son. He is obedient and responsible. He's funny and there are times that he surprises me. He is a good example to his brothers. I'm proud of him, and of all he has done in his 12 years of life. His dreams are so big and his future is so bright. I know he will do wonderful things and whatever it is that he does, I will always love him and always be so thankful that he is my son.

Happy Birthday Z!

TRICK-R-TREAT
Who doesn't love Halloween? I just love the days of trying to figure out Halloween costumes, and the last minute "I changed my mind- can you make me into a greek warrior instead?" I love being
the lucky one who gets to pull all the guts out of all the pumpkins, I can't figure out why no one else wants to do that. I love sugar crazed kids, who fight over who gets the only minature 100-Grand candy bar. I love it when I only have 3 pieces of candy left and a group of 7 kids waiting with bags open. Now I'm thinking I'll find out about the "Trick" part of trick-r-treat. Halloween really is fun.
What I do love is all of the fun decorations and the happy faces of kids. Their excitement really is a little bit contagious. S was so excited for his costume. He loved being a race car driver and wearing his costume to school. He did wonder though, why Grandma didn't bring him a racecar to go with it. T was Indiana Jones. He was very excited about the hat and the whip, but a little worried that his pants were not the same color of brown that Indy's pants were. Z could not make up his mind this year. He finally decided on a dead soccer player. The morning of the school parade we got his face all made up to look dead. After school when he came home, he said he thought he'd just be a regular soccer player instead. He did not like wearing make-up! Ahh.. Halloween, who doesn't love it!
